He graduated from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences Bangalore, before pursuing his post-graduation from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Belgaum. He also holds a Fellowship in Glaucoma from Prabha Eye Clinic and Research Centre Bangalore.
